week two term 3
Kia Ora everyone. After a long holiday I am back at school and busy busy busy. Speeches, Kapahaka, Po Panikeritanga, Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori, WIMs sevens and most of all the Band Slam. In week one I was sick and unable to come to school so I was quarantined! Here is more info on my week.
Excellence night.
On Tuesday night we had a Po Panikeritanga (excellence night) where the extension Maori students showcased their learning/teachings so far this year. I said a speech about Te Puea and I sung a himene (a hymn in Maori) called Hine E hine otherwise known as the famous song Goodnight Kiwi. Bringing parents into tears we had a big feed. It was a good night. Even a student said their in full Maori.
Haka Extravaganza
During Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori on Friday we did a big school haka competition between the houses. Composed by our very own all boys class teacher Matua Pou we blew the roof off our ALC. As far as we know a video was uploaded onto facebook and it has had over 7,000 hits.
Band Slam
Band Slam was pretty awesome with hard core rockers and a full house. Don't want to spoil the moment so this is all I will say about it.
It is time I headed off and got onto the current week's post. Until then so long.

Winged Victory (Beacons of Light) - Brian Balmages
Winged Victory conducted by Mrs Ringle
Scrambled scrambled scrambled
This term I had scrambled all my posts so hopefully next term it is not as confusing as it was this term. The past two weeks have been awesome with Music Day totes epic and there was a concert with the Te Awamutu college, Te Awamutu Intermediate. Waikato schools band and Waikato youth band combined!!!
Music Day
Music Day was cool. I got a bit argumentative during the Maori composition workshop we had with Dr. Te Manaaroha. As you can see I was in my element but then asked us if we agreed that guitar and keyboard are the main instruments to do composition and I was the only one who objected this so I made a complete fool of myself by explaining my reasons.. After that A lot of people agreed with me. In the end we had performed infront of the school. we played three pieces of music Pink Panther, Royals and thinking out loud.
Concert
Mrs Ringle came in from the USA to conduct a piece of music winged victory. You had to be there instead of telling in words.
I have gone blank so this is all I can think of. Hopefully next term I can write heaps about what happened heaps.

term two rolled into one
Well this term I haven't been on my blog for a long time due to all these different events at school that have been happening. The most recent post I have done was from three weeks ago roughly and now my ambition is to roll my whole term, so far, into one big post so here is the most recent happenings.
Tech Arts
Tech Arts was very cool and unfortunately I keep on forgetting to take a camera with me to tech arts. We have finished art and now Room 3 year 7's are onto hard materials with Mr Monk. On Tuesday 26th May we made spinning tops and I made a butterfly. They were straight away banished from school at three o'clock.
Mufti Day
On Wednesday we had a mufti day where you had to dress up as first response (example:Firefighter, Ambulance etc) but I did not dress up in random mufti.
Band
I have moved up to SENIOR Band and it is the same as junior. Heaps of laughter, fun and commitment. We are focusing on a piece called winged victory It is coming along alright. On the first day I got to Senior band a pile of music.
Kapahaka
For kapahaka the latest update is that we are learning a new song called Haere mai ki ahau ki Maniapoto E. Half way through kapahaka I have been getting dismissed for two main reasons... Production and Walton Street Cafe gig. That is right gig. here is some info on the gig.
Walton Street gig
Well for Walton street I am singing three songs at midday on the queen's birthday. They are Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran, The Beatles Blackbird and my rock band's original song Fight On but acoustically.
Production
Just practice practice practice.
Well I gotta go. See you soon. Bye

late post
Hi. It has been a long time since I put up a post and now I am behind with however many posts I should've done but now I have had an epiphany. Instead of writing a boring post about every single day of the week I will choose one subject from each week that has influenced quite a lot. Let's see if it works.
Band Camp
Matamata and Cambridge school came to Te Awamutu Intermediate for a two day music camp. It was interesting to be honest. I didn't do very good because I got to close to my friends I didn't really focus on the music but there were some funny things too like how I am now called Miss Giggles, Hey you and laughey. Good times. Good times. Hahaha. At the end of the camp we had a concert where we performed in front of hundreds of family. I was so terrified even though I looked tough I wasn't. Made heaps of friends. Haha. So many!!!
Po whakawhanaunatanga
If you are wondering what Po Whakawhanaunatanga is it is a meeting that my koro and my mum attending which was to do with the kids who are affiliated with Maori and what the teachers at Te Awamutu Intermediate were going to do for us or well that was my families understanding. I was taken away with the kapahaka group and we were practicing a little bracket to perform in front
the parents but sadly I did not make it up onto the stage for reasons I do not want to go into.
Kapahaka and Tech Arts last week
Kapahaka and Tech Arts last week was cool. Very relaxed. We did our artwork in Tech Arts about what symbolizes us and Kapahaka something changed. I still can't put my finger on it though. We were learning a new song in Kapahaka. I can't say much about these subjects because to be honest I can't really remember what happened.
Extension Maori
Ever since Whaea Rangi came to Te Awamutu Intermediate something has changed ever since she came to school yet it is a good change and it feels like I am home. Anyway going back to the subject, Raukawa is doing a research about a Kuia who disagreed with Waikato men going to war and the conscription. She helped build Turangawaewae and she is the granddaughter to Tawhiao Te Wherowhero who was the second Maori king. Her name is Te Kirihaehae Te Puea Herangi. A lady who left her mark on New Zealand.

Term 2 into action!!!
Well it's back to another term at Te Awamutu Intermediate. Well I have only been at school for three days four if you include today due to my dad's birthday. Okay let's get started on what I did. I am only going to talk about the main things from this week by the way.
Tech Arts on Tuesday
On Tuesday tech arts was interesting. We put an undercoating on our jandals (by the way my is off the hook) then a glaze so it shows up nice and shiny. Then after that we cleaned up and got started on a new project where we make a shape and draw symbols that represent us. I chose the New Zealand flag as my background. I will show you my full masterpiece hopefully tomorrow.
Extension Maori on Wednesday?
On Wednesday We had an unusual time frame for extension Maori. Normally we have it on a Thursday from 10am to 10:40am but instead we had it on Wednesday from 10am to 10:40am. Okay I know it isn't that much of a change but for me I just got so used to being on Thursday if you know what I mean. We had a new tutor called Whaea Rangi who actually is our new Maori teacher for kapahaka too. There's even more. She is my Aunt and she was my kapahaka tutor for the past six years (at Pekerau Primary School). Luckily I was prepared for what was coming my way.
Rock Band
Not interesting so next thing. Oh. Yeah. For Rock Band we want to choose a new song so if any rock and roll or upbeat pop songs you know of that also aren't Bon Jovi or Guns and Roses please comment them.
Kapahaka
Kapahaka as you may know comes under THE ARTS which is my whole life and this year I haven't felt welcome and at home there. Well Whaea Rangi changed the whole thing which now to me feels like home. Instead of the year 8's goofing around we actually got something done in that bracket of the day and our voices are more tight so whatever happens we will be sharp and ready for what is coming our way. We have got our lines sorted and we learnt a new song (well it wasn't really new because we started learning it last term but nobody was really committed to learning so it was never really learnt in the first place). Now I see I am making it sound fun, glamorous and cool but now there are some down falls to kapahaka now. We have to do Tarapipipi which means stand on your toes with your back straight and run with your hands out. IT...HURTS!!! Soon we will be doing papahoronuku (ghost chair) and hopefully not...the most terrify one of all...THE...DUCK WALK!!! The most embarrassing consequence of all. A punishment where you walk like a duck for minutes, seconds, hours. Well Let's start a new subject.
Production
Practice. Practice. Practice.
ANZAC CEREMONY!!!
Today's ANZAC service was very interesting hearing our schools very own students have different aspects to the war in 1915 April 25th where some family members lost their lives. Remember Lest we Forget.
And now it has come to the end of my blog report/update. Hopefully next time you hear from me I will have photos from around the school. So long my fellow peeps or Bye day Broskys. Hahaha (laughing at the way us youngsters/juveniles talk in the modern century). Bye

Wellington
Wellington
Kia ora everyone. Today I am blogging about Camp from Term 1. I will be breaking my journey into days so sit tight and enjoy reading this soon to be long blog.
Sunday 22nd March
On Sunday we did practically nothing besides getting stuffy and sleeping on the bus. We stopped in Taihape and Bulls briefly for toilet breaks. It took from roughly around nine o'clock to arrive there at seven thirty approximately. By the way our bus driver was Gale.
For dinner we had a sausage with bread and coleslaw but not everyone in my class had eaten that. You see some were gluten free and some were vegetarians. Altogether the ratio for how many people who were on the trip was 2:31.
For our accommodation we had these little dormitories that supplied a bunk and single bed with a little area for you to hang your hangers on. Here is a picture.
Well this isn’t the same one as ours but this is what it kind of looked like.
This picture shows probably the most famous object at the Top 10 Holiday Park in Lower Hutt. All of the students in my class were on it straight away.
Monday 23rd March
While we were on camp we had to wake up at 7.00am in the morning. Then after we got ready and were on the bus we were straight into the days work.
I thought Zealandia was cool but at times it did get a bit boring for my taste buds. We got the chance to pat a Tuatara which felt really wrinkly. The thing I liked the most was probably the exhibit there and the Moa model that looked really realistic. It made a realistic sound and once it stopped moving we watched a movie that showed how Zealandia was built and what they want to achieve in the near future.
There was a new marae at Te Papa Museum from last time I had been there with my family. You could walk inside it and see what a marae looked like inside one if you haven’t seen one before .
Since I have never been to the National Library before I was really captivated by their talk about their temperatures in the basements where they keep the books. The world war 1 exhibition was our main focus and when we got to the gallery I was trying to absorb all the information in and the pictures and diaries. It filled most of my thinking space. Did you know according to one of the big books in the gallery which had how some men died. Well there was a man that committed suicide and most of the men in the war died from wounds, diseases, bronchitis, and foot disease. Another thing that I found disgusting was that in the olden days people used to eat rats to survive and this was quite amusing, people played poker in the middle of the war. When I heard that all I could say was lol.
When we got back to camp I was so tired yet I went on the jumping mat. For dinner we had Sausages with bread and coleslaw.
Tuesday 24th March
On Tuesday it was the same routine in the morning Wake up, get ready, make lunch and into the bus after a little while on the jumping mat if it is not wet. Tuesday’s schedule. Carter Observatory, Cable Car to Lambton Quay, Capital E…
Everything at the Carter Observatory. We got to go into the Planetarium and watched a movie called To The Moon For Good. A brilliant movie and effects were awesome. At one point I actually got scared as object were zooming closer and it looked so realistic and 3D but with no glasses that would topple off your face. That was one of the highlights for me and it even made me think about entering the Google xtreme lunar competition.
The cable car was interesting but it just wasn’t fun. Just a little ride so I thought that wasn’t much fun. It was so slow.
Capital E was interesting and that was a bit boring as all I did was scroll down a screen for the presenters and the weatherman to read it so I did find it fun but when we ran through it I found it boring.
Tuesday was fun but now reflecting on it it was a bit boring mind you some things weren’t that bad.
For dinner we had Nachos and coleslaw. To end the night for dessert we had ice cream and fruit salad. Then lights out!
Wednesday 25th March
Wednesday I think had the funniest thing ever. Our schedule like every nd. Well we arrived at other day was tight and we had keep on track. No doodling or goofing around. Well we arrived at Wellington Zoo seen as that was the first thing for the day. We had a guide for ¼ of the visit and then free time with our adult. One of the girls in my group wanted to be a zoologist when she grew up so we went to a vet show where we watched a Yellow Eyed Penguin from Dunedin get surgery on t’s flipper (we only watched the beginning or in other words a snippet).
Going to the zoo made me feel and realise how intelligent and unique animals are. Now I feel a lot more closer to animals than ever.
One of the main favourites for me at the zoo was the Meerkat in the “Next door neighbour” area/block.
Now this is where the funny part comes in. Well we went to Island Bay Marine Reserve also called Tapu Te Ranga for snorkelling. We saw heaps of different creatures in and out of the water. I saw Sea Cucumbers, Starfish, Paua, Blue Cod, Seahorses and heaps of seaweed. I even got the opportunity to see an Octopus. Our instructor explained to us what their life cycle and all this information about them. The Octopus that we saw in a little aquarium if that is what you want to call seemed to be attracted to my friend Amelia which was funny because his tentacles stuck to her and our instructor/guide in this case couldn’t get its attention. This was a bit embarrassing for some people because the Octopus had squirted water onto someone in particular (name not available due to person might get humiliated online).
After the big day I felt so hypo.
Thursday 26th March
I felt so tired on Thursday. Luckily it was just one more day until we went home otherwise I would have started to get all emotional. For the first time I actually missed my brother annoying voice and I missed doing...c...h... o...r....e...s. Ch...o.res. I hate ch...o...res. I can’t even say it in full.
Thursday was a bit boring seen as all the things we did were at the end of camp and these activities had to beat the previous/prehistoric activities. The Holocaust was average to me because it was about death and that was it really. I thought that all of the activities we do on the last day should be finished on a high note instead of a sad note. There were some fascinating things at the Holocaust Centre like we got to meet a survivor Vera. She was only four when this event happened though. Moriah Primary had set a goal to get 1.5 million buttons and completed the goal. They then donated the buttons to the Holocaust Centre. Each button represents one child's life.
If I had to summarise the Holocaust I would say “a man driven by anger and vengeance attempted to annihilate Jewish people. A whole race. By forming a group/clan/army called the Nazis Adolf Hitler had enough power to erase all Jews . Inhumane accusations took place and the Jews were mistreated and were killed by being Gassed. People came out with their lives but no one came out without fear and hurt.”
The Museum of Wellington City and Sea was an interesting visit. We learnt about the Wahine disaster and we got go into this room that was set out with five chairs at the front of the room with a massive table in front of them and two or three meters in front of that table was another table where most people sat. Photos hung all over the walls of men who I thought would’ve been the crew. Above the five chairs up the front of the room was an enlarged map going from Wellington to Lyttelton. We all got a ticket (a fake copy of a real ticket from the Wahine) and a little piece of paper telling you what or who you are. I was a hard-working crew member. There were some stowaways, Captain Galloway, Captain Robertson, Truckees, Crew, Ordinary passengers etc. We watched a movie about the Wahine disaster and we saw debris on from the real thing. In the movie we watched interviews from the disaster. I was really captivated in the Wahine Disaster.
After spending time at the museum we had a blast at Capital E again but in the Media Lab making Android Apps which were for me my type of geek. We started really basic and carried on to more complex games through the lesson. I learnt that it takes forever to invent games so don’t be deceived by the setting/cover or what it looks like. Games like Flappy Bird apparently take three years minimum so don’t try recreate games if you don’t have a lot of free time. Media Lab was awesome and that would probably take the number one place I want to go to next time I am in Wellington.
Friday 27th March
From the first day of camp I knew there had to be a beginning and an end. Sadly Friday was the end for me and my class. I knew a whole lot more about Wellington, my friends, my teacher, me. I had learnt most importantly that inside parliament they will scar you for life by showing you what not to do at school.
The ride home was peaceful.
Seeing my family was the most joyous thing I have ever experienced. I missed my family and they weren’t late for once.It so good to be home again.
Well everybody see you later.

ohayo gozaimasu this is an update from me
Rise and shine . This morning I have already broke into hysterics with Benjamin Ranby-Al because I am so energetic today. Benjamin was bumping his head under the computer table while he was trying to reach the cable then he kept being funny so I couldn't resist but laugh. Right know I am containing myself but I know it will just blurt out of me.
For maths I have a good day. Writing all my reflections for them yesterday. Oh by the way I am just doing a short post today about yesterday. Yesterday was how do you put it... easy. Yesterday was easy to get around with kapahaka for only various people and the morning running smoothly I wasn't as tired. I think I have said what I wanted to say. I don't really think this a post so let's call it an update.

Kick Back Day A.K.A What is happening at Intermediate?
Hi everybody. It is me again. Normally I write about how I am doing or what I have learnt but I might have a change for once I am doing something a little different. I have a hole lot of things to tell you about school. This isn't a reflection on the week but instead a little pep talk if you would like to call it that but for me I will call it Kick Back Day otherwise What is happening at Intermediate?. Today has been a blast for me. Mufti Day and Rock Band were the main things for me.
Rock Band
We have been in the process of composing our own song. It is really cool. I can't say much about it but all I can say is that it is running smoothly thankfully. Rock Band is on it's way.
Courtyard
There are so many things that happen in the courtyard such as gossip, games, chilling and well that is pretty much it. Gossip is a big one. When I say gossip I mean gossip. Everyone here is really open about talking to you even if they are a complete stranger. It to me comes across as crazy or weird.
Walking
Walking is a major epidemic in this school. Did you know that half the students here walk around the whole school in seconds. Soon they could break a new record.
The Pool
The swimming pool is really popular now. Not much to talk about this subject.
Mufti Day
Mufti Day has been how do my generation put it? Oh yeah today has been "Swag eh double Gee! Or swag gee west side" Don't know why they say west side though. Today was a bit embarrassing because I had face planted onto the ground.
Maths
Maths is one of the main parts of school learning and room 3 has knuckled down on this particular part of our curriculum. We have learnt a ton of stuff such as square roots, order of operations and heaps more. Order Of Operations is basically using BEDMAS to solve problems. Here is an example.
Oh and by the way BEDMAS means Brackets Exponents Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction. BEDMAS is just an acronym to remember it. Now here is the example.
Question: 3*4+6-3+(6-5)+34=?
Working: You need to start with the brackets. 6-5=1 so 3*4=12+6=18-3=15+1=16+34=?
Answer: The answer is 50.
Now try your make your own and give them to someone else and ask them to do the same.
Wheels Day
Wheels day was a fun time where we brought something with wheels then rode them during lunch time after eating. There were Scooters, Bikes, Roller Blades, Skates, Skateboards, Rip sticks etc.
We had a really fun day!!!
It is time for me to say farewell to you all and go but before I go there is one thing I need to say... UPTOWN FUNK YOU UP UPTOWN FUNK YOU UP... dunna dunna dunna... HAHA
bye

Working: You need to start with the brackets. 6-5=1 so 3*4=12+6=18-3=15+1=16+34=?
Answer: The answer is 50.
Now try your make your own and give them to someone else and ask them to do the same.

Another busy week
Well I got a reality check this week with another busy week. Wow. What a week. Tuesday after school practice, French, Band, Extension Maori, Kapahaka, Student assembly and I am just getting started. It just gives me a lot talk about. Thinking about time management, I did good.
For french we just did a bit of revision and learnt how to count to 10.
Extension Maori and Kapahaka were the usual but for Kapahaka we watched Te Matatini 2015 Live on the internet in room 8 during interval. We only got to watch Waka Huia perform. My mum is hosting Te Matatini because she works for Waikato University and in case you are wondering what Te Matatini is and who Waka Huia is then I can tell you. Te Matatini is a special event for New Zealand and New Zealanders because it is when different groups from around the country come together in one spot to perform Maori dance from their area. Waka Huia is one of the most famous groups (in New Zealand) who have won Te Matatini before.
Band was fun on Thursday. We actually got somewhere where we learnt how to do different excersizes our mouths so when we go to play our saxophones we are all ready to play. It definately helped me.
There are tonnes of things I could go on about but I think I should'nt. It would take days for me to finish and you months to read so time to go. So long everyone.
Bye
Remember Stay Strong because things might just get better. Might be stormy now but the rain can't last forever.

A blast at school
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, the major lift. The baffled king composing hallelujah.
Week 4 has beamed upon us at T.A.I and it has been a blast at school. Thursday is going to be scary though. Netball, Te Reo, band, visual language, Kapahaka, choir. I am living a nightmare hopefully it is going to calm down. Yesterday was the best. We competed against room 15 in softball. When I win at something I am not humble at all. We have won all our games now. Room 12, we won 16-0, room 10, we won 22-10 and room 15 we won 14-2. Everyday is a mission for me. This year I wanted to get 10 badges or more and well I am pretty close to achieving it. This week has been a blast for me really. I have made it into Rock Band 1 with Bella from room 6 (I think) as lead singers.Yesterday at french we learnt a little speech. Bonjour. Je suis Raiha E toi? That means Hello. I am Raiha and you? It was so exciting to learn my first short speech in french. Halfway through french there was the fire alarm went off so we had to wait on the field to stop. Apparently there was a fire in the office. We evacuated the ALC immediately and we were escorted out onto the field by Madame Shaw. A large mass of students thought it was just a drill. Got to go.
So long my fellow peeps

busy busy busy week 3
Salut Everyone. Another week I survived without falling that much behind. It has been epic but it has felt like forever really. Looking back on how the weeks gone, it was very complicated especially on Tuesday and Thursday.i am amazed how well people time manage there jobs and commitments well here at Te Awamutu Intermediate. This week french, Te Reo, Maori, rock band, visual language, and heaps more have occupied me in this burning weather. Kapahaka wasn't very fun. It was like I was in a place full of students who just played on their phones, talking over each other. I got to the point where I was about to leave the ALC (Art Leisure Center). I just had enough. Going to Intermediate and having a lot of responsibilities, roles, hobbies, and interests is much more harder than I had expected int he first place. When they say they push you out of your comfort zone they mean it.
Well it is time for me to go.
So long my fellow peeps.
Ka kite ano.

Reflecting on week two
Hi everyone. Reflecting on the week, I have had a pretty exciting week. This week has also been excruciatingly exhausting and chaotic at intermediate.
I have remembered to come by the class for the last five minutes of interval and lunch just to get into class on time because when you are on the playground and your class is on the other side of the school you have to put a game plan intact to make sure you beat the teacher back. So far my back up plans had rebounded so I need to have an even better epiphany then those prehistoric ideas.
Thursday is probably going to be the busiest day so far for me so I hope I am prepared for what's to come my way.
Yesterday I had French with Madam Shaw and I learnt a few words like pétanque, bonjour a la class, Baguette, and heaps more. Although she was just introducing French to us it felt like we were half way through the year.
So long my fellow peeps.
