Well it's back to another term at Te Awamutu Intermediate. Well I have only been at school for three days four if you include today due to my dad's birthday. Okay let's get started on what I did. I am only going to talk about the main things from this week by the way.
Tech Arts on Tuesday
On Tuesday tech arts was interesting. We put an undercoating on our jandals (by the way my is off the hook) then a glaze so it shows up nice and shiny. Then after that we cleaned up and got started on a new project where we make a shape and draw symbols that represent us. I chose the New Zealand flag as my background. I will show you my full masterpiece hopefully tomorrow.
Extension Maori on Wednesday?
On Wednesday We had an unusual time frame for extension Maori. Normally we have it on a Thursday from 10am to 10:40am but instead we had it on Wednesday from 10am to 10:40am. Okay I know it isn't that much of a change but for me I just got so used to being on Thursday if you know what I mean. We had a new tutor called Whaea Rangi who actually is our new Maori teacher for kapahaka too. There's even more. She is my Aunt and she was my kapahaka tutor for the past six years (at Pekerau Primary School). Luckily I was prepared for what was coming my way.
Rock Band
Not interesting so next thing. Oh. Yeah. For Rock Band we want to choose a new song so if any rock and roll or upbeat pop songs you know of that also aren't Bon Jovi or Guns and Roses please comment them.
Kapahaka
Kapahaka as you may know comes under THE ARTS which is my whole life and this year I haven't felt welcome and at home there. Well Whaea Rangi changed the whole thing which now to me feels like home. Instead of the year 8's goofing around we actually got something done in that bracket of the day and our voices are more tight so whatever happens we will be sharp and ready for what is coming our way. We have got our lines sorted and we learnt a new song (well it wasn't really new because we started learning it last term but nobody was really committed to learning so it was never really learnt in the first place). Now I see I am making it sound fun, glamorous and cool but now there are some down falls to kapahaka now. We have to do Tarapipipi which means stand on your toes with your back straight and run with your hands out. IT...HURTS!!! Soon we will be doing papahoronuku (ghost chair) and hopefully not...the most terrify one of all...THE...DUCK WALK!!! The most embarrassing consequence of all. A punishment where you walk like a duck for minutes, seconds, hours. Well Let's start a new subject.
Production
Practice. Practice. Practice.
ANZAC CEREMONY!!!
Today's ANZAC service was very interesting hearing our schools very own students have different aspects to the war in 1915 April 25th where some family members lost their lives. Remember Lest we Forget.
And now it has come to the end of my blog report/update. Hopefully next time you hear from me I will have photos from around the school. So long my fellow peeps or Bye day Broskys. Hahaha (laughing at the way us youngsters/juveniles talk in the modern century). Bye
